Is breakfast included with the booking? Some breakfast staples are supplied for your first night, this includes: muesli, eggs, fresh bread, butter, jam, full cream milk and oat milk.
What else is supplied in the pantry? Muesli, olive oil, coffee, tea, salt & pepper. A complimentary hamper including olives, cheeses and 2 x bottles of Pomonal Estate wine is also provided.
How will I make my coffee?! Not to worry, the Nook has a very reliable stove top percolator.
What cooking facilities are in the Nook? The Nook has a full kitchen with a cooktop, oven, sink, dishwasher, fridge, toaster, kettle and coffee percolator.

Where is the Nook located? The Nook can be found in the eastern foothills of Gariwerd / Grampians, approximately a 3 hour drive from Melbourne. A short ten minute drive from Halls Gap township. The exact address is 32 Pioneer Lane, Halls Gap, Victoria.
Do I need a car when staying at the Nook? Yes, you will need a vehicle to get to the Nook. There is no undercover parking.
How far are the closest towns? The Nook is a 10 minute drive from Halls Gap township, 5 minute drive to Pomonal township and a 25 minute drive to Stawell township.
Are there any shops nearby? Halls Gap has multiple cafes and restaurants and a small supermarket. Pomonal has a small General store, pub and winery. Stawell has two large supermarkets and various other stores.
How far are you from Melbourne? The Nook is approximately 3 hours drive (250km) from the Melbourne CBD. The closest airport is Melbourne (Tullamarine) airport, approximately a 2 hour and 40 minute drive.
How many adults can stay at the Nook? The Nook can accommodate one to two people.
Is the Nook wheelchair accessible? Unfortunately the Nook is not wheelchair accessible.
Is there TV and WiFi access at the Nook? Yes, the Nook has free to air TV access as well as YouTube and Netflix. WiFi is provided via reliable high-speed Starlink satellite internet, so you can stay connected even out here in the bush, or switch off entirely if you prefer.
What outdoor facilities are available? The Nook has an outdoor picnic table/pergola, a fire pit, outdoor bath, Weber BBQ and large native garden.
Can you see the stars at the Nook? Yes. Nook On The Hill sits in dark rural bushland well away from city light pollution, so the night skies are exceptionally clear. Many guests stargaze from the outdoor bath or the fire pit on cloudless nights.
Is there an outdoor bath or hot tub at the Nook? Nook On The Hill has a deep cast-iron outdoor bath with hot running water and sweeping views across Gariwerd. It is a freestanding soaking bath rather than a heated spa or jacuzzi, filled fresh for each soak, and can be enjoyed in any season.
Is the Nook private and secluded? Yes. Nook On The Hill is a single, self-contained tiny house with no shared walls and no other guests on the property. It is surrounded by a large native garden and bushland, offering a high degree of privacy and quiet.
Will I see wildlife at the Nook? Native wildlife is a highlight at Nook On The Hill. Guests regularly see kangaroos, emus and a wide variety of birds, with nocturnal visitors such as sugar gliders and tawny frogmouths after dark.

It holds Sustainable Tourism accreditation.
What time can I check-in & check-out? You may check-in from 3pm on the date of your arrival. Please check-out before 10am on the date of your departure.
Can I check-in early, or check-out late? We are more than happy to discuss if this might be possible for your stay, however, sometimes this won't be something we can accommodate.

Is the Nook suitable for children & infants? Nook On The Hill is an adults-only accommodation offering. Children and infants are not allowed at the property.
Are pets allowed? Unfortunately, due to the abundant wildlife on the property, we do not allow pets.
Do you provide bed linen and towels? Yes, we provide all bed linen, towels, tea towels and bathrobes.
Do you supply amenities? We supply hand and body wash. We do not supply shampoo or conditioner.
Is there a hairdryer? Yes, Nook On The Hill provides a hairdryer, along with a garment steamer to freshen up your clothes during your stay.
What should I bring or pack? Nook On The Hill provides all linen, towels, robes, toiletries and kitchen staples, so you mainly need to bring food and drink for your stay. Gariwerd evenings can be cool year-round, so pack warm layers and a wet-weather jacket. It is also worth bringing sunscreen, as the UV can be high in any season.
I am having trouble finding an available window of dates to book? If your date window isn't showing any available results, typically this means that we are booked out. Try adjusting your date window and looking at dates a few months in advance.
I have selected dates but it won't let me book? Make sure you have selected the number of guests from the drop down field under your selected dates and that you have selected a minimum of two nights stay.
How much does it cost to stay at the Nook? Nook On The Hill is booked in packages, with a two-night minimum stay. The Weekend Sanctuary is two nights, Friday to Sunday, for $1,500. The Midweek Reset is three nights, Monday to Thursday, for $1,300. Additional nights can be added at the nightly rate of $750 on weekends and $650 midweek. Do I pay a deposit? We take the full booking payment at the time of booking. Bookings are not confirmed until the booking has been paid and we have a valid credit card on file.
Is there a bond? Yes there is a bond for your stay. A hold is put on your credit card on the check in day, and will be reversed 2 days after check out, as long as there is no significant cleaning needed or damage to the property. The hold amount is $500.
I am trying to book for 2 nights, but it won't let me? Over some holiday periods, there may be a 3 night minimum stay.
What is the cancellation policy? Cancellations and amendments are available up to 30 days before your check-in date and receive a full refund of the booking value. Within 30 days of check-in no refund is available, so we recommend taking out travel insurance to cover any unforeseen changes. Full details are set out in our Terms and Conditions.
Can I buy a gift voucher for the Nook? Yes. Nook On The Hill offers digital gift certificates in set denominations or a custom amount from $100 to $5,000. They are valid for three years from purchase, can be redeemed against any stay subject to availability and are transferable to another recipient before they are redeemed.
