SECURITY DEPOSIT
Prior to arrival, guests are required to provide a valid credit card. A pre-authorisation hold of $500 will be placed on this card to cover any incidental charges, damage, or breaches of these terms. The hold is released following check-out, subject to inspection of the property. No funds are debited from the card unless required under these terms.
GENERAL TERMS
All accommodation is subject to availability.
Damage, breakages, theft, and losses are the responsibility of the person named in the booking during their stay. In the event of major damage, a daily room tariff equal to the daily tariff that we would charge if the room was available to be let — or any other rate that may be agreed to by Nook On The Hill, in accordance with business demand on the day — will apply until the room has been returned to its saleable condition.
Additional cleaning fees may apply as required.
The consumption of illicit drugs on the property is strictly prohibited and may result in termination of the booking, dismissal of guests without a refund, and legal prosecution.
The number of guests must not exceed the number stated on the booking confirmation notice or as subsequently agreed in writing or by email.
Lost or stolen keys will incur a $200 fee. Attempts will be made to contact the guest, who will be given the opportunity to return any keys taken. Failure to do so will result in the fee being charged to the credit card on file.
Room degradation (such as vomit or bodily wastes) will incur a $200 cleaning fee, plus any professional floor cleaning charges at cost, plus a daily room tariff equal to the daily tariff that we would charge if the room was available to be let — until the room has been returned to its saleable condition.
The breach of any of the above conditions may result in immediate termination of rental and additional charges.
Much time, love and care has gone into creating this property for you to enjoy. Please be respectful.
ON THE PROPERTY
The gate must be kept shut at all times to protect the native garden from wildlife damage.
FIREWOOD POLICY
We supply one wheelbarrow of firewood for the fire pit per two-night stay. If you require extra wood during your stay, it can be purchased at $50 per wheelbarrow on an honesty system. Please let us know when you use more.
The fire pit is only to be used at night-time. Please check the fire danger rating before lighting the fire. The fire pit is not to be used on Total Fire Ban days or on Extreme & Catastrophic fire days. Information for the fire danger rating for the local Wimmera region and any restrictions that may be in force can be found on the CFA website.

Any children aged under 18 years (including newborns and infants) are not permitted on the Nook On The Hill property. Nook On The Hill reserves the right and full discretion to not accept bookings for guests in this age bracket.
Pets are not permitted on the Nook On The Hill property.
NOISE AND PARTY POLICY
Zero tolerance party policy. In the interest of quiet enjoyment and respect for all neighbouring properties of Nook On The Hill, a no-party policy applies to all guests staying at the property.
If complaints are received and you are found not to have been respectful of neighbours, you will be required to vacate the premises with no further notice and no refund.
Please be respectful to our neighbours at all times and keep noise to a minimum. Access to the water tank must be clear at all times, and the large CFA valve must be accessible at all times in the case of fire emergency.
PARKING
Guests are to park vehicles in designated areas on the property only.
MARKETING AND ADVERTISING
Use of Nook On The Hill for commercial photography, filming, marketing or advertising purposes requires prior written agreement from the owner, Benjamin Bailey-Webb. We reserve the right to seek remedies for unauthorised commercial use of the property or its imagery, including unauthorised use by third parties.
SMOKING
There is no smoking inside the property. If there is evidence of smoking, including a smoke odour, you will be charged a fee of $500 to cover the cleaning of curtains, carpets and air-conditioning sterilisation.
DAMAGE
While you are in occupation, you are fully responsible for all breakages and damage caused to the property, its furniture and fittings, or any consequent loss suffered by Nook On The Hill. Any such breakages, damage or loss must be reported immediately and paid for prior to departure. Failure to comply with this condition will result in any such costs and expenses being debited from your credit card or security deposit without further notice.
BUSHFIRE POLICY
The purpose of this policy is to ensure the safety of all guests at Nook On The Hill.
If access to Nook On The Hill is officially cut off (as determined by Victoria Police) and is still cut off at 12pm on the day you are due to arrive, your booking will be cancelled and you will receive a credit equivalent to the full value of your booking, redeemable against a future stay within 12 months.
If there is a bushfire event but access is not officially cut off by Victoria Police at 12pm on the day of your arrival, you may proceed at your own risk and your booking will not be cancelled. No refund will be given if you choose to cancel your booking.
Where a road is officially cut off (as determined by Victoria Police) but a reasonable alternative route is available, you may proceed at your own risk and your booking will not be cancelled. No refund will be given if you choose to cancel your booking.
GIFT CERTIFICATES
Nook On The Hill offers digital gift certificates for purchase through nookonthehill.com.au. The following terms apply to all gift certificates.
Nature of the gift certificate. A Nook On The Hill gift certificate represents a dollar value of credit toward a stay at Nook On The Hill. It is not a booking, a reservation, or a guarantee of specific dates. The recipient must contact Nook On The Hill to redeem the certificate against a stay, subject to availability.
Validity. Gift certificates are valid for three (3) years from the date of purchase. The expiry date is shown on the certificate. Any balance unredeemed at expiry is forfeited, in accordance with Australian consumer protections.
Value. Gift certificates are available in fixed denominations or as a custom amount between $100 and $5,000 AUD. All amounts include GST where applicable.
Refunds. The original purchaser may request a full refund within fourteen (14) days of purchase, provided the certificate has not been redeemed in whole or in part. After fourteen days, gift certificates are non-refundable except as required by the Australian Consumer Law.
Transferability. Gift certificates may be transferred to another recipient prior to redemption, with notice given to Nook On The Hill so the certificate record can be updated.
Partial redemption. Where a gift certificate is used for a stay costing less than the certificate balance, the remaining balance is retained as credit against the certificate and may be applied to a future stay within the validity period.
Combining with other offers. Gift certificates cannot be combined with other promotional discounts, sale rates, or special offers.
Booking conditions. Stays booked using a gift certificate are subject to the same booking, cancellation, and general terms as any other booking at Nook On The Hill, including the $500 security deposit and the 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellation within 30 days of a stay booked with a gift certificate will be treated as a forfeit of the booking value against the certificate balance.
Lost or compromised certificates. The voucher code is required for redemption. Nook On The Hill is not responsible for certificates lost, stolen, or used by an unauthorised party. If the original purchaser can verify the purchase, we may, at our discretion, re-issue a certificate; the original code will not be honoured after a replacement is issued.
Bushfire policy interaction. Where a stay booked using a gift certificate is cancelled under the Bushfire Policy above, the certificate balance will be reinstated for use against a future booking within the original validity period.
Changes to gift certificate terms. These gift certificate terms apply at the date of purchase. Subsequent changes apply only to certificates purchased after the change.
INDEMNITY
You, the guest, indemnify Nook On The Hill against any liability that may attach to us as a result of damage, injury or loss — whether personal or proprietary — suffered by any person where the damage, injury or loss has been contributed to or caused by any act or omission of the guest.
COMPLAINTS AND CONCERNS
If you have a concern during your stay, please contact us directly and as soon as possible so we have a fair opportunity to resolve the matter. We aim to address all concerns promptly, professionally, and in good faith.
Contact details are provided in your pre-arrival communications and within the House Notes booklet at the property.
PRIVACY
Our handling of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, available on our website. By making a booking or purchasing a gift certificate, you consent to the collection, use, and storage of your personal information as set out in that policy.
