Gariwerd has been shaping water for millions of years. Some waterfalls run year-round. Others arrive after rain and vanish just as quickly. All of them are worth finding.

The biggest waterfall in the Grampians, and one of the few that runs properly year-round. The walk to the base is short enough to be easy, dramatic enough to feel earned. The water hits rock with enough force you feel the spray from a distance — the kind of thing you stand in front of for longer than you planned.
Pair it with Boroka Lookout on the same day. The views from up there sweep the full Halls Gap valley. Easy walk, enormous payoff.

A quieter stop. The reservoir sits at the foot of the Wonderland Range and reflects it back when the water is still. The walking trail around the edge is easy and unhurried. Good for early mornings before anywhere else gets busy.

Smaller than Mackenzie, and all the more peaceful for it. Tucked into a fern-lined gully that feels remote even though it isn’t. After rain it’s at its best — the whole gully comes alive with the sound of it.

Natural rock pools rather than a waterfall, but the same family of experience. The pools fill and overflow after rain, creating cascades through the rock. Go early or late in the afternoon to have more of it to yourself.
All of these are within a short drive of the Nook. Pick one for the morning, another for the afternoon, and come back to the outdoor bath with something decent to drink. Book your stay.
