The Setting

The Nook sits on a hill above Halls Gap with views across the valley to the ranges. The native garden — grown from plants sourced locally in Pomonal — wraps around the property and attracts enough wildlife that you don’t need to go anywhere to feel like you’re in Gariwerd. The outdoor bath is best at night, when the stars are out and the air is cold enough to make the water feel earned.

What the Grampians Offers

Beyond the Nook, the Grampians gives you waterfalls, wineries, ancient rock art, and trails that range from an easy afternoon to a full day’s effort. Dunkeld is forty minutes south — the Royal Mail Hotel, if you’d like an exceptional dinner. Halls Gap is ten minutes in the other direction, for coffee and a morning walk before the day opens up.
