Halls Gap is where most people begin their Grampians trip and where the trailheads, the coffee, and the wildlife converge. It’s a small town — easily walked end to end — with enough to fill several days without trying.

Chatauqua Peak and The Pinnacle both start within walking distance of the main street. Chatauqua is a solid half-day loop with views that open up gradually — the kind of walk where you feel like you’ve earned something by the end. The Pinnacle is shorter but steeper, with the best panoramic views of the Halls Gap valley. Both are worth doing on separate days rather than cramming together.
Venus Baths is a gentler option — natural rock pools a short walk from town, ideal for a warm afternoon. Halls Gap Botanic Gardens is a pleasant hour among native flora, hidden sculptures, and good picnic spots.

The Brambuk National Park Cultural Centre is the place to learn about Gariwerd properly. The Jardwadjali and Djab Wurrung people have been here for tens of thousands of years, and the centre tells that story with depth and care. It’s worth more than a passing visit.

Livefast Cafe handles coffee and brunch well and is usually the first stop of the day for most people staying in the area. There are a handful of other options in town — browse the main street and see what appeals.

Halls Gap is ten minutes from the Nook. Close enough to drop into whenever you want, far enough that you feel like you’ve left when you come home. Book your stay.
