For truly spectacular panoramic views, especially at sunset and an iconic Grampians walk to “gravity-defying” rock formations, Reed Lookout is an unmissable destination. Just a short 20-minute drive from Halls Gap, this spot offers both accessibility and adventure, making it a highlight of any Gariwerd visit.
Reed Lookout provides a breathtaking view of the towering cliffs and rolling ridges stretching out all the way to the horizon. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the expansive beauty of the Grampians.
Reed Lookout is also the trailhead for a popular walk called The Balconies. This is a relatively short 2km out-and-back trail with incredibly rewarding views. The highlight? The “gravity-defying” hanging rocks that offer a unique perspective of the valleys below. It’s a fantastic short walk that adds another layer of adventure to your visit to Reed Lookout.
