At Nook On The Hill, we believe in creating bespoke cosy experiences that are thoughtfully integrated with the natural environment. We strive to find a balance between comfort and sustainability. Native Australian plants are therefore a key part of achieving that balance.
Our commitment to native Australian plants, sourced from the renowned Vaughan’s Native Nursery in Pomonal, plays a vital role in this philosophy. It creates a haven for guests, supports our local community and actively contributes to the rewilding of our beautiful unique landscape.
Vaughan’s Native Nursery: A Grampians Gem

The lush gardens surrounding the Nook were thoughtfully designed and nurtured using plants sourced from Vaughan’s Native Nursery. This local treasure is owned by Philip Vaughan, a passionate expert on Australian flora. Guests can wander the Nook’s gardens clutching a warm cuppa (our favourite pastime), admiring the diversity and resilience of native plants, knowing they can recreate this Grampians-inspired feel at home by visiting Vaughan’s.
Rewilding the Nook: Transforming the Landscape

The Nook’s hilltop location wasn’t always a garden paradise. Once a cleared paddock, it has undergone a remarkable transformation through rewilding. A native flora garden now spans half an acre, encompassing the tiny house. This careful restoration has attracted a wealth of birds, lizards, and other wildlife, creating a richer ecosystem that guests can witness firsthand.
