Arriving at the Nook: The Hamper and What’s in It

The first thing most guests notice isn’t the view, although the view is the first thing they mention later. It’s the hamper on the kitchen bench — a arrangement of things that takes a moment to take in because each item turns out to be from somewhere specific.

What’s in the Hamper

The sourdough is from Nick and Jackie at Blue Wren Bakery in Pomonal — naturally leavened, small-batch, the kind of loaf that makes the first morning feel considered. Alongside it: olives from Red Rock Olives, chocolate from Kerrie’s Kreations, local jam, a selection of cheeses, and two bottles of wine from Pomonal Estate, sourced about five minutes down the road.

The Arrival
