Boroka Lookout: The View That Stops You Mid-Sentence
There are lookouts in Gariwerd that impress you. And then there’s Boroka.
It’s the one guests describe when they get home. The one that ends up as a phone wallpaper. The view over Lake Bellfield and the Wartook Valley that keeps going long after you expect it to stop.
Getting There
Boroka Lookout is about a 15-minute drive from Halls Gap β head south on Grampians Road, then up Boroka Drive. The road winds through dense bush before opening suddenly at the top. That contrast is part of the experience.
There’s a small car park at the summit. From there it’s a two-minute walk to the viewing platform. Accessible, no long hike required β though if you want more, the Silverband Falls trail is nearby.
When to Go
Early morning is our pick. The light is soft, the valley is quiet, and you’ll likely have the place to yourself. Sunset works too β the ranges turn deep orange and the lake below catches the colour. Either way, bring something warm. The ridge gets cold when the wind picks up.
