There’s chocolate in your hamper. Not the supermarket kind — handcrafted dark chocolates made by Kerrie, whose workshop and cafe operate out of Pomonal. They’re in the hamper because they’re good, and because they’re made by someone ten minutes from where you’re sleeping.

Kerrie uses Belgian chocolate sourced via the Cocoa Trace program, which supports sustainable farming and fair trade practices for cocoa farmers and their communities. The dark chocolate is rich without being heavy, and the handcrafted finish means no two pieces are quite identical. The kind of thing you eat slowly without planning to.

What started as a passion project has grown into a beloved local brand — one of those Grampians businesses that locals recommend without being asked. Kerrie can often be found at the Pomonal Village Market, van parked up, chocolates laid out in the morning light.

The cafe in Pomonal is worth a stop if you’re passing through. Pick up something extra to take home.

The chocolates in the hamper are best opened after dinner, somewhere quiet. You know where to find that. Book your stay.
